Featured in 葛雷漢諾頓秀: Timothée Chalamet/Colman Domingo/Andrew Garfield/James Corden/Ruth Jones/Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir (2024). As a huge Dylan fan, I had high expectations based on the trailers and Chalamet interviews. The movie still surpassed it. First, as most people have noted, the acting is superb. I’ve listened to a lot of Dylan, Baez and Seeger songs. After about 20 minutes you forget that this is an actor reincarnating. That’s how well they nail the voice, singing, intonation, mannerisms, etc. Monica Barbaro is highly underrated as she echoes Baez’s singing very well. Second, the movie chose a great plot that captured a lot of the nuances of Bob Dylan’s time and actual life. I knew a lot of the story and they picked great moments and used a great story to tell it. And zero temptation or overly heroic depictions of its revered subject. Overall, an incredibly well made film made even better by Chalamet, Barbaro and Norton killing it.
